The Imagine Project of the Unviersidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC, Brazil) and the University of Bordeaux (UB, France) have created an innovative educational program that aims at offering to future generations of scientists, citizens and professionals a more comprehensive, ethical and socially engaged training, which will ultimately help them to face and overcome current and future global challenges.

After the Covid-19 pandemic, and for the years or decades to come, university education will occur under a wide variety of social, health, and technological contexts, where “working together while being apart” will be increasingly common.

Moreover, academic mobility will be enhanced through international online courses that will connect students and professors from different countries, thus promoting multicultural, inclusive and collaborative learning. In view of this perspective, the College of Sciences & Technologies of the UB and the Imagine Center for Science Popularization of UFSC, with the support of more than a dozen international institutions, created the course IMAGINE Virtual Exchange: “The Languages of Science”, which is taught online and in English at the same time to UB and UFSC students.
